Dear members and friends of the UN Global Compact, 

The fourth annual SDG Business Forum convened business, Government, civil society and the United Nations to discuss concrete solutions to move from commitments to action to deliver on the Global Goals.


While acknowledging that 90% of the UN Global Compact participants have policies and practices in place for each of the Ten Principles, Lise Kingo emphasized that it is critical for these ambitions to be matched with action. Read more

Launch of our free sustainability helpdesk in collaboration with the Positive Impact Space

The Global Compact Network Switzerland and the Positive Impact Space are launching a free helpdesk for business sustainability.

New Training on elaborating a Communication on Progress (COP) 

Reporting on the 10 Principles is key to understand and communicate a company's impact on critical sustainability issues such as labour rights or climate change. It is also very helpful to steer and monitor sustainability efforts and strategies. Our new training aims at supporting UNGC companies in this process.

Third session of the Working Group on Sustainable Supply Chains  

After a very fruitful session on supply chain risk analysis, the Working Group will convene again on 23d October. This meeting will focus on Human Rights Due Diligence.

Tour de Suisse on Sustainable Business - next stop Vaduz

The 6th stage of the Tour de Suisse & Liechtenstein will take place at LGT Group in Vaduz. It will focus on the implementation of sustainable business models and the realisation of the SDGs. We look back on two very successfull Tour de Suiss events in Jona and in St-Gallen.

UN Forum on Business and Human Rights

This November and for the 8th time, the Palais des Nations will host the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights. The Forum being the foremost event to network, share experiences and learn about the latest initiatives to promote corporate respect for human rights, we strongly encourage our members to attend and would love to meet you there.

Updates from the UNGC


Major companies lead the way towards a 1.5°C future at UN Climate Action Summit

87 major companies are taking action to align their businesses with what scientists say is needed to limit the worst impacts of climate change. They have committed to set climate targets across their operations and value chains aligned with limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and reaching net-zero emissions by no later than 2050. We congratulate our members Givaudan, Firmenich, Swiss Re, Nestlé and Zurich Insurance for leading the way!

UN Global Compact Academy

18 new UN Global Compact Academy sessions will take place from October 2019 to March 2020. In these sessions, companies at the Participant-level have the opportunity to learn from subject matter experts and the experiences of corporate leaders on key sustainability topics.
