News of Global Compact Network Switzerland

As part of the implementation of the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights, SECO and FDFA have launched for the first time a joint website on business and human rights: The website provides an overview of the activities organized by the State in the areas of business and human rights and provides information on projects and instruments used in this context. It also provides specific information for companies and aims to raise awareness of human rights due diligence through practical examples.

The 2nd Swiss Global Compact Dialogue was successfully concluded on 14th June 2018 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. About 160 participants attended the conference. This year’s topic on responsible business and consumption was enriched by esteemed keynote speakers, panel discussions with NGO's and the government about their role and expectations as well as a speed dating exercise on CSR-best practices with all the attendees. 

Der Bundesrat hat heute den Länderbericht 2018 «Die Umsetzung der Agenda 2030 für nachhaltige Entwicklung durch die Schweiz» verabschiedet, den die Schweiz am High Level Political Forum der UNO im Juli in New York vorstellen wird. Das Global Compact Network Switzerland (GCNS) hat in der Begleitgruppe am Bericht mitgewirkt. Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Bund, Zivilgesellschaft und Privatsektor in diesem zweijährigen Prozess ist ein Meilenstein für die gemeinsame Lösung anstehender Herausforderungen.

Die Luzerner Zeitung stellte dem Leiter des Global Compact Netzwerks, Antonio Hautle, Fragen zur Wichtigkeit der ökologischen und sozialen Nachhaltigkeit von Unternehmen.
Dabei erläutert Antonio Hautle, welche Folgen der Einsturz einer Textilfabrik in Bangladesch vor fünf Jahren hatte und wo noch Handlungsbedarf in der Textilindustrie besteht.

Two years on: Taking stock of the recommendations of the UN High Level Panel’s Report on Humanitarian Financing.


On 7 March 2018, GCNS Executive Director, Antonio Hautle sat on a panel together with Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, the CEO of the World Bank to discuss humanitarian financing. The event gathered more than 280 guests, including ambassadors, senior representatives of member states, UN agencies and NGOs.
