One-day business coaching session on integrating human rights due diligence into corporate operations.

An increasing number of standards, initiatives and legislation require that companies know and show how they respect human rights in their own operations and their global value chains. On December 2016, the Swiss Federal Council adopted a National Action Plan for the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights to improve the protection of human rights across business activities.

Do you know what you have in place to meet these expectations and where you have gaps? Do you have defined concrete steps on how to address these gaps?

Objective & Content

This coaching session addresses businesses who have a general understanding about international and national human rights due diligence standards and need practical guidance on embedding them across their operations. It will help participants to identify human rights related risks and improvement opportunities across their operations and business relationships. Interactive exercises will encourage participants to share their experiences and learn from other businesses.

At the end of the coaching, participants will have the tools to:

  • Assess any gaps between your current practices and the Federal Council´s expectation of Swiss businesses
  • Manage the human rights impacts of your business activities and relationships
(Evaluate your current processes to identify and assess human rights impacts, address adverse impacts and implement operational grievance mechanisms)
  • Create an action plan to further implementation of the responsible business conduct within your business
  • Integrate human rights due diligence into corporate policies and practices along the value chain
