The UN Global Compact (UNGC) is a United Nations Organisation.

Its Local Swiss Network, the Global Compact Network Switzerland (GCNS) is a member-based association. As of 2018, all Swiss companies committing to the UNGC will automatically become member of the GCNS.

There are three types of membership to the Global Compact Network Switzerland:

Regular business members
All UN Global Compact business members (participants, signatories, lead) are also regular members in the Global Compact Network Switzerland. They engage actively with the association and contribute with a full annual membership fee. They have a voting right in the association’s meetings and particularly in the General Assembly.

Annual fee: For details see Fee Structure UNGC / Beiträge UNGC

Associate business members
Associate business members are interested in the association’s work and the UN Global Compact initiative in general. They participate regularly in the association’s activities, are expected to contribute with a reduced membership fee only to the GCNS and don’t have a voting right. They receive regular information of the association and get invited for most of the activities and specific parts of the meetings.

Associate business members can notably be:

  • small and microenterprises, (currently companies with turnaround <25 Mio or less than 10 employees) with the status “Signatory”,
  • enterprises which are not yet signatory of the UN Global Compact, but interested in the association’s work (possible for max. 6 months),
  • enterprises which are a non-active signatory due to failure of delivering the COP-report or other reasons but remain interested in the association’s work

Annual fee: CHF 500.-

Associate non-business members
All non-business signatories to the UN Global Compact based in Switzerland become GCNS members.

Associate non-business members are individuals or organizations from civil society, academia or government with strong interest in the association’s work. They participate regularly in the association’s activities, are expected to contribute with a reduced membership fee only to the GCNS and don’t have a voting right. They receive regular information of the association and get invited for most of the activities and specific parts of the meetings.

Annual fee: CHF 500.-
